Greetings parents:
Happy Sunday! I hope you have been able to enjoy this beautiful day with your family.
It's so hard to believe we only have 24 school days left. We will be working hard for the next month.
4th graders will take GA Milestones the week of May 6. Don't forget about the online Coach Digital resources that can be used for review. Your student knows how to log in. It is not required homework, but it is a great option for reviewing.
There will be no homework, quizzes or tests given during Milestones. But we will continue with our units during the day.
This Thursday, the 25th, is Fine Arts Night at school. Bring your family to watch our wonderful chorus performance and see the beautiful artwork created by our dolphins. I'll be there!
This week in...
MATH
Red group will continue with unit 7, measurement. Last week we worked on angle measurement. This week, we will work on finding area and perimeter. We will also start measurement conversion using both the customary and metric systems. They will have a quiz the week of 4/29.
Blue group will continue with unit 3, multiplication of decimals. They will have a short quiz on Wednesday, 4/24. It will cover multiplication of decimals as well as multiplying and dividing decimal numbers by powers of ten.
Thursday, we will move on to division of decimals. Their test is scheduled for Friday, 5/3.
Purple group will continue with unit 6, measurement. Last week we worked on finding volume of rectangular prisms. This week students will work on measurement conversion using both the customary and metric systems. Their test is scheduled for Friday, 5/3.
SCIENCE
We will start our Force and Motion unit tomorrow. Students will have a short vocabulary quiz on Friday, 4/26. Please encourage them to look over their vocab words each night. Their vocab and notes will be in their binder.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Nichole Bice
