Greetings Parents:
I hope you are enjoying this "snow day". The kids were so excited yesterday when they found out school was canceled today. I listened to stories about how much fun they were going to have playing in the snow. I hope they at least got some time to play outside. Please consider volunteering for International Day next week. They still need several volunteers to help make it the success it has been in the past. Information can be found on the International Day Tab on Ms. Rivera's website.

This week in...
MATH
Red group will continue to work on multiplication of a fraction by a whole number. Next week, we will review on Monday and Tuesday, and the unit 4 test will be Wednesday 2/6. Students have worksheets in their binders and videos on Google classroom to help them study. Tomorrow, I will send home the quizzes they took last week. Please ask to see it, and go over it with your child. If they made an 80 or below, please sign it and send it back in.
Blue group will continue work on problem solving with Order of operations and multiplying and dividing by powers of ten. We will review Monday and Tuesday. Their test will be Wednesday, 2/6 on the first part of unit 1. Students have worksheets in their binders and videos on Google classroom to help them study.We will start the second part of unit 1 next Friday. It covers multiplication and division strategies. Please have your child brush up on their multiplication and division facts.
Purple group will continue working with multiplication and division of fractions and line plots. Their test will be the week of 2/ 11.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Students have been working on various social studies tasks relating to the Westward Expansion. They have also been working on a research project. Ask them about their topic!
Their Social Studies test will be, Friday 2/8.
