Greetings parents:
I hope you had a lovely weekend with your family, and spent some time outside yesterday.
Only 13 more school days until winter break!! We'll be working hard here in 4th grade at Dolvin.
This Friday, we will have our in class spelling bee. The 2 winners from each class will then compete in the school spelling bee after the break. I sent home a list of words, the students could use to practice, but please tell them not to stress and DON'T try to memorize every word. The spelling bee is not mandatory.
This week in...
MATH
Red group will finish up unit 1 and start reviewing for the test. Their unit 3 test will be Wednesday, 12/12. We will work on review problems in class, and they will also have them in their binder. Please make sure your child is studying for this. You can make up practice problems for them, based on the review problems. I will hand back their quizzes tomorrow. They will need to bring them home to review with you, and get them signed. The test will be the last major grade of the semester.
Blue group will begin reviewing for their unit 7 test tomorrow. It was originally scheduled for Friday, but a chorus concert was announced for Friday morning. I want to give them enough time. So their test will be Monday, 12/10. Their quizzes are part of their sign and returns (coming home today). Please review it with them. Please make sure your child is studying. They will have practice problems in their binder.
Purple group will review for their unit 3 test tomorrow and Wednesday. Their test will be Friday, 12/7. We will work on review questions in class, so they will have them in their binders. Please make sure your child studies for the test.
SCIENCE
Students will have the science quiz Wednesday, 12/5. The quiz will cover the first 3 sections of the notes: Day and night; the seasons; and the moon's phases. There will also be 10 vocabulary words on the quiz. I have already told the students which ones will be on it. There are great resources on the solar system google classroom.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Nichole Bice
